This vintage Holophane industrial pendant fixture features a maroon painted metal frame with a matching canopy and chain. It holds a single bulb inside of an enclosed two-part prismatic glass shade. Please note, the paint is chipped in several places (see photographs) and the fixture has been adapted from an outdoor fixture to indoors only. The glass shade is in excellent condition and features an elegant curved point common to early Holophane commercial fixtures. The shade mount is aluminum, the chain steel, and the canopy is brass.

Holophane is a brand started in 1898, but based on an early 1890's invention of a process that used prisms perpendicular to each other in the glass surface to distribute light more evenly. Holophane comes from the Greek words for wholly luminous appearance.

This light has been tested by our staff and is in working condition. We always recommend using energy efficient and cool operating LED bulbs.

Dimensions:

14" High + chain x 12" Wide
