This is an antique cast iron fireback and matching side panels featuring an all-over lion face design. The lions' faces and manes are surrounded by scrollwork.

Please note, the side panels do not have tabs to fit into the back panel. The top, outside corners of the side panels also have large chips missing (see photos).

Firebacks are used to protect the walls of a fireplace from heat and smoke corrosion and also increase the efficiency of the fireplace because the cast iron absorbs heat and radiates it into the room. These heavy but highly decorative panels could also be repurposed for a variety of projects.

Center panel: 29.5" High x 19.25" Wide
Left and right side panels: 29.5" High x 15" Wide
