This is a 7 piece Japanese porcelain 'whistling bird' sake set. The small, six-sided bottle is decorated with hand-coloring over a calligraphy transfer design with seated figures on each side. The bottle has a little bird on top with a hole that can creates a soft whistling sound when sake is poured (at the right speed and amount). The tiny, matching sake cups also whistle when sipped near a little tube in the rim! The bottle and cups are hallmarked in red on the bottom.
Please note, the bottle has some wear to the gold paint on the bird and spout; a cork or stopper is not included. No chips or cracks.
