This Jacobean Revival antique sideboard in excellent condition is finely crafted with attractive tiger oak veneers and plenty of lively trim detail. The sideboard has cabinet doors at the sides with arched, raised panels; bands of cascading vertical trim over the center legs; and a diamond-shaped applique split between the two drawers with molded trim framing the center section. The doors and drawers have their original drop pulls. The piece stands on bulbous cup and cover legs typical of this style joined by a box stretcher that joins to the back in a V-shape at the center, leaving the front open. Please note, there is a small piece of trim missing around the diamond applique (see photos).
This piece was made by George Hummel & Sons of Brooklyn, New York, and appears to have been professionally refinished and has a rich brown stain that nicely showcases the highlights of the woodgrain.
