This unusual map is a mid century vintage, classroom sized, pull-down map of the arctic zone published in East Germany. It depicts the northernmost region of the globe from a vantage point that puts the North Pole at the center. It is mounted to a metal bracket.

The map is printed in German and published after 1955 by VEB Hermann Haack Geographisch-Kartographische Anstalt Gotha.

Please note: this map does not retract up all the way on its own. The wooden dowel that belongs at the bottom of the map is detached but included.

Dimensions:

Printed map: 6 feet 7 inches High x 6 feet 7 inches Wide (79" x 79")

The metal bracket measures 85.5" long x 3.75" wide.
