This product is a previously owned antique kilim from the area of Quba, Azerbaijan. Its made in the traditional flat weave, with non- interlocking edges in the color changes. The wool weft colors range from a deep saturated black, white background, to vibrant reds, and pops of green. The diagonal patterning alternates black and white backgrounds with colorful geometric symbols inside. In the upper right hand corner the date "1919" is stitched into the rug, likely indicating its age.  The warp is a very interesting two ply wool with contrasting natural colors (brown and white) The starting edge maintains the loop from dressing the loom, and the bottom edge is fringed. This is a very special rug with a plethora of interesting character.

Dimensions:
6' Wide, 9.5' Long

Please note that some of the fringe is not intact. Please see the up close photos for details.
